Can other people’s negative thoughts effect me?

As for if other peoples negative thoughts affecting yours…. No, only if you let them.

As a Law of Attraction Coach I get asked this question often. The answer is, you just have to stay focused on your own thoughts of what you want to create. And really feel the thoughts, live them in your imagination often, so much so that it feels like you are already living it to some degree in your real life. Meaning you can really feel what it will be like.  The more you do this and can stay in that space, the more you can in some way influence the one who cannot stay in the positive space. You may have an influence on the negative thinker with your positive thought.

If you are deliberately choosing your thoughts then you are in control of what you think. So you decide not to have the negative person’s thought take a hold of you. The key is to be deliberate about the thoughts you think. So when the negative thinker starts sharing their negativity with you, you can choose not to own those thoughts. You can acknowledge that the thought is the other person’s creation and that you don’t choose to create in that way.

We all create our own reality with our thoughts.

We all create our own reality and we can influence others by being the best we can be, it will rub off.  But on the other hand, it does work both ways, you can be influenced by the negative thought of others if you allow it, by not recognizing that the negative thought actually belongs to someone else. So, being deliberate about the thoughts you choose to have as your own is all you need to do. When a negative thought comes up you can look at it and see if it does belong to you or if it belongs to someone else. Release the thoughts that are not yours. Just acknowledge that it is not what you think or feel and that it is someone else’s creation and then let it go. Just like that. You might even think of putting that thought in a bubble and blowing it away.

For the negative thoughts that are yours you can change them by just thinking of a slightly better feeling thought. Don’t reach too far, it has to feel real to you, you have to own that better feeling thought. It has to be one that makes you feel a little bit better. Then from there you can find the next better feeling thought, and take it from there. Little steps at a time. Think the new thought and then ask yourself, “does that feel better, the same, or worse?” As you keep choosing the better feeling thought you will raise your own vibration and you will be getting in touch with your positivity.

The nice thing about it is that the Law of Attraction is always working so you will get more of what your are thinking about. In this case you will receive more better feeling thoughts. Isn’t that just so cool

  2. It’s an exhilarating challenge to stay in my positive space when surrounded by people who are choosing a more negative expression. If I am TOO upbeat it just makes people want to slap me LOL! The tricky part is to vibrate in a close enough tone level with them to not come across as totally obnoxious without getting sucked into their negativity. Practice! Practice! Practice!

  3. Agreed, it’s an act in really maintaining your focus! I think it is a practice worth pursuing – one of those skills that will come in handy throughout life. You can’t control others, all you can control is your response. Great guidance and well said! Keep focused on the end game and all the pieces will fall into place.

  4. I love this topic. It is so amazing how staying focused on others positive traits (Love The Book Of Positive Traits!) even when they are being negative works wonders for me. I have been using that process like crazy lately and wow what a change I am seeing in what I am attracting:) No one has control over me:)

    • Yes, me too Nicole, the Book of Positive Aspects really has made a difference for me with some relationships that were always a struggle. Once I decided to look for the things that I appreciate about them, I only see what I appreciate. I don’t see the stuff that used to bother me. I just receive exactly what I appreciate. It’s great!
